One of China’s most iconic landmarks is making its grand debut in Thailand with the spectacular Yuyuan Lantern Festival, brought to life by ICONSIAM in collaboration with Shanghai Yuyuan Tourist Mart Group and Intersteps, delivering a mesmerizing showcase of lantern artistry through light, shadow, and interactive “Immersive Art” experiences. Every detail has been carefully curated to mark the historic 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between China and Thailand in the most magnificent way.

Set to dazzle at ICONSIAM, the Yuyuan Lantern Festival 2025 is themed “Spirit of Mountains and Seas”, inspired by the ancient Chinese text Shan Hai Jing (Classic of Mountains and Seas). To commemorate this historic diplomatic milestone, the glowing lanterns will illuminate the banks of the Chao Phraya River for a continuous 50 days, symbolizing the enduring light of friendship between the two nations and building a bridge of emotions that binds the people of Thailand and China closer under the sentiment, “China and Thailand are one family.”

A key highlight is the unique event layout, inspired by Eastern culture and lifestyles, centered around the concept of “islands”. The venue will be transformed into a wonderland along the Chao Phraya River, appearing as a series of floating islands adorned with vibrant lights. Each group of lanterns represents a mysterious island scattered across the “Chao Phraya Lantern Isles,” inviting visitors to explore and discover them one by one in a dreamlike journey.
