A Thai Dining Checklist for Foodies in Bangkok (Plus, Extra Privileges You Can Claim with the ONESIAM Global Visitor Card)

1. Thai Street Food
Is there a country more famous for its street food than Thailand? With endless options lining the streets of Bangkok, it can be overwhelming to know where to start, or what to order. Luckily, there are two standout spots that make the choice easy.
When it comes to Thai street food, the most impressive spot to sample a very large and varied selection is undeniably SOOKSIAM. Located on the ground floor of ICONSIAM, the vibrant indoor Thai street food haven features over 300 vendors from all 77 provinces of Thailand. Highlights include khao soi and Isan grilled chicken, as well as traditional Thai desserts, like the popular kanom buang.
Located on the ground floor of Siam Paragon, Gourmet Eats serves Bib Gourmand-level Thai street food, featuring iconic pad Thai, aromatic Hainanese chicken, rich boat noodles, spicy papaya salad, and more beloved favourites that showcase the best of Thailand’s culinary heritage.

2. Thai Heritage Cuisine
People who seek authenticity, and want to enjoy a genuinely Thai culinary journey need to add these spots to their must-try list.
Ros’niyom is one of the most beloved Thai eateries in Bangkok, located on the ground floor at Siam Paragon. On the menu, you’ll find highlights such as the rich pork rib noodle soup, Sukhothai-style spicy noodle, and tom yum goong. Those familiar with Thai cuisine will note that the flavours conjure up a sense of nostalgia — all the while dining in a contemporary setting.
Another beloved authentic Thai restaurant is Nara Thai Cuisine. Located on the fifth floor of ICONSIAM, the refined Thai restaurant serves up signature favourites such as pad Thai, Ayutthaya boat noodles, and deep-friend pomfret with garlic and chili.

3. Thai Noodles
Is there anything better than a bowl of Thai noodles? Thai cuisine offers a large variety of noodles, though two of the most popular kinds are boat noodles and beef noodles.
At the famous ThongSmith on the ground floor of Siam Paragon, diners can enjoy signature dishes such as wagyu sukiyaki, tom yum hotpot, and Thai-style boat noodles. The premium Thai hotpot spot is renowned for its slow-cooked broths and use of high-quality ingredients.
If you’re a true beef lover, stay in Siam Paragon and head to the fourth floor to Nuer Koo, a premium Thai beef noodles spot where you’ll get to enjoy top-grade beef cuts in a slow-simmered broth. Highlights from the menu include wagyu brisket, braised short ribs, and beef balls.

4. Thai Papaya Salad (Som Tum)
Ready to test your spice tolerance? Hailing from the northeast of Thailand, Thai papaya salad or som tum is a beloved must-try dish that really packs a punch.
At Tumkratoei Sagate on the second floor of Siam Center, diners can enjoy the essence of the Isan region, sampling the “Tum Kratoei” signature som tum variation, grilled cat fish and fish cakes, Isan hot pot, and chicken and glass noodle stew. The setting is bold, colourful, and playful, making it a fun Thai street food spot — with a twist.
Another famous papaya salad spot is Have A Zeed, located at Siam Discovery, on the third floor. The Thai restaurant is inspired by both northeastern and central Thai cuisine. Here, highlight dishes include the signature spicy papaya salad, grilled pork neck, and tom yum noodles.

5. Thai Seafood
Thailand has a rich bounty of seafood, and though Bangkok does not lie by the sea, there is a great array of Thai seafood restaurants where diners can sample the best of what it has to offer.
At Kungthong Seafood, located on the third floor of Siam Discovery, diners can enjoy a fresh, home-style Thai seafood feast in a casual setting. Unmissable must-tries include the steamed seabass with lime and garlic, grilled river prawns, and deep-fried grouper with sweet chili sauce.
At ICONSIAM, seafood lovers should head to Laem Charoen Seafood, located on the fifth floor. The celebrated Thai seafood restaurant is famous for its deep-fried seabass with fish sauce, steamed crab with spicy seafood sauce, and stir-fried crab curry powder. Against a sleek riverside setting, there’s nowhere better to indulge.

6. Thai Fusion
Thai fusion is a relatively new style of Thai cuisine, but it is already attracting foodies that seek something a little more experimental from their dining experience.
Located within Siam Center, head to the second floor and check out Baanying for a delicious mix of home-style dishes with a contemporary touch. Recommended dishes here include the shrimp with chili and garlic omelette rice, deep fried chicken wings, and omelette rice with sun-dried beef salad. The comforting flavours paired with the casual ambience make this spot a great option for friendly gatherings, too.

7. Thai Desserts
No list of Thai dining would be complete without mention of traditional Thai desserts. Proudly home to a vast array of sweet treats, Bangkok has a few standout dessert destinations you need to check out.
Looking to cool down from the heat outside? Head to Pang Cha on the first floor of Siam Paragon for luxurious milk-tea shaved-ice creations, each crowned with a fluffy “ice mountain,” and topped with chewy crystal, Thai tea, and black tea pearls. This grand dessert is then finished with sliced bread, almonds, and whipped cream for utter indulgence.
If you prefer fruity flavours for dessert, check out Luggaw on the first floor of Siam Center. The Thai fruit bar serves creative blends, fresh juices, and zesty fruit salads. You’ll get to enjoy these the uniquely Thai way, such as guava with chili-salt, for a healthier take on dessert time.
