ONESIAM takes strongest precautionary measures against 2019 novel coronavirus outbreak

take strongest precautionary measures against
2019 novel coronavirus outbreak,
to ensure customers’ confidence

Owing to the concern over an outbreak of the 2019 novel coronavirus, also known as 2019-nCoV, ICONSIAM, Siam Paragon, Siam Center, and Siam Discovery would like our customers to feel confident about our precautionary measures. Indeed, all the shopping centers do prioritize the safety of customers and employees. We have taken all basic precautionary measures and there have been no suspected cases reported.

However, to reassure customer of our establishments, we announce strongest measures possible to monitor and prevent the virus outbreak including thermal screening at checkpoints and a set of eight measures as follows:

  1. To install checkpoints for symptoms of the coronavirus with a thermal scanner at the main entrance and exit gates of the shopping buildings: 5 points at ICONSIAM, 5 points at Siam Paragon, 2 points at Siam Center and 3 points at Siam Discovery—to reduce the risk of spreading the infection early. The thermal scanners meet standards with their counterparts at Suvarnabhumi Airport. The device will detect the human body temperature, safe to users, and can measure the body temperature from a distance. This allows customers not to feel disturbed even though there will be many visitors walking into the building at the same time. The device can provide accurate reports, however.

  2. To increase air conditioning maintenance more strictly: additional disinfection system and higher frequency of air conditioner cleaning are provided.

  3. To provide hand sanitizer gel service totaling more than 300 points throughout all the shopping buildings, especially at crowded areas. Disinfectant service is also available in the restrooms apart from foaming hand wash normally provided.

  4. To add the number of staff and frequency of cleaning surfaces in public places such as lift push buttons, escalator handrails, restroom handles and every single door handle.

  5. To have lift staff who will clean and push a lift button for customers, to name but a few.

  6. To provide an emergency service point dedicated to offering help and convenience to any suspected case at the checkpoint. The building staff will contact those involved and allow customers’ convenience to have a checkup in the hospital and report to Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health, in accordance with the Ministry’s procedures.

  7. To raise awareness awareness and give the employees a training session about the coronavirus outbreak and how to react.

  8. To actively encourage all the employees who give service directly to customers to wear a face mask on duty. To install informative signs in the shopping centers to give advice on how to do when having a fever or symptoms.

As a result of these more stringent precautionary measures that include every aspect, ICONSIAM, Siam Paragon, Siam Center, and Siam Discovery are totally confident that all customers will visit and enjoy experiences safely and confidently at each of the shopping centers.
